Anthony Battaglia, is the owner and developer of Palazzo di Bocce. He serves on the board of the U.S. Bocce Federation, and is a nationally-ranked player and member of the Sylvan Lake Bocce Club.
Mr. Battaglia retired in 1999 as chairman of commercial construction firm Cunningham-Limp, which he had co-owned since the late 1970s. He began his career learning the cement trade from his father, Pat Battaglia, who owned his own firm by the same name. He and a colleague opened Anthony Bennett Construction in 1976, which went on to purchase Cunningham-Limp.
Mr. Battaglia and his wife live in Oakland Township. They have four adult children and five grandchildren. |

Michael Thomas Jr., is the Director of
Operations at Palazzo di Bocce. He was previously owner
and chef at Rustica Europa in Rochester Hills, Michigan
from 1995 to 2002. He was recognized as Chef of the Year
in 2002 by the American Culinary Federation’s Chefs 200
Association, and for its cleanliness his restaurant was
named Best of the Delightful Dozen by the Michigan
Restaurant Association in 1997.
A former personal chef to NBA star Kevin Johnson of the
Phoenix Suns, Thomas has worked in the hospitality
industry for a number of properties in Michigan and
Arizona, including Hops! Bistro and Brewery in
Scottsdale; The Boulders, a resort in Carefree, Arizona;
and the Roman Terrace in Farmington Hills, Michigan.
Thomas earned an A.O.S. in culinary arts and restaurant
management from the Scottsdale Culinary Institute and
was awarded membership in the Alpha Kappa Beta honor
society. He resides with his wife and daughter in
Oxford, Michigan. |

Jason Wisniewski, is
Manager of Bocce at Palazzo di Bocce. He is currently
captain of the Gold Medalist team - 2006 U.S. Club
Championship for Punto, Raffa, Volo.
In his first Nationals appearance in 2005, he was on the
Gold medalist team for Doubles-Volo and the Bronze
medalist for both Singles-Punto, Raffa, Volo and
Singles-Volo
Wisniewski
has been playing bocce since 2001 initially learning the
game from Mr. Battaglia. He soon after became a member of
the Sylvan Lake Bocce Club and with additional coaching from
Mr. Battaglia, has played in bocce tournaments throughout
the world and is now considered one of the top U.S. players.
